Late blooming gardener Geoff, and his family have discovered the enjoyment and multitude of benefits that growing your own can bring.

Engaging the services of professionals (Vital Veggies) six years ago, a productive garden was designed and constructed comprising four large raised vegetable beds (with in-built worm farms), a rotational chook run, espaliered fruit trees, grape vine and herb beds.

With enthusiasm, increasing knowledge and skills, the remainder of the garden was soon repurposed to productive zones.

Fruiting trees such as mangoes, cherries, mulberries and even a banana went in. Climbers such as passionfruit, chocos, kiwifruit and grapes adorn numerous fences and structures.

Watching seeds, seedlings and plants grow, flower and fruit brings so much joy and satisfaction to Geoff and his family.

Activities:

  • Roger Carthew from Vital Veggies, and owner Geoff will be available all weekend to discuss the patch and garden transformation.
  • SA Country Women's Association will have a produce stall.

Please note: this garden is not suitable for wheelchairs. Visitors need to inside the fenced pool area to access the garden.

Size: 150sqm.
